गृह रक्षा स्वयंसेवक सरकारी कर्मचारी नहीं होता है। वर्तमान में 693 रुपए प्रति दिन होमगार्ड्स के तौर पर मिलने पर होने पर एवं 590 रुपए प्रति दिन चतुर्थ श्रेणी कर्मचारियों के तौर पर योजना होने पर दिए जाएंगे।
